Deep-seated grass fire in Gawsworth
A grass and shrubland fire measuring approximately 5m x 20m was extinguished by firefighters using two hose reels. The crews needed to dig out soil from the deep-seated fire to ensure it was fully extinguished.

FIRE IN OPEN Equipments Hosereel jet - Copthorne, Shrewsbury
This incident involved conifer trees and undergrowth alight, crews used 1 hosereel jet to extinguish the fire.
Crews from Selby, alongside Pontefract and Garforth from West Yorkshire, responded to a field fire measuring approximately 75m x 75m. Crews extinguished the fire using three hose reel jets and beaters.

Field fire – Ramsbury
12th August, 2026 at 2.42pm We were called to Crowood Lane, Ramsbury at 2.42pm today (12 August) for a stubble field of 80m x 80m well alight. We initially had crews on scene from Marlborough, Swindon, Stratton (x2) and Cricklade, together with a water carrier from Royal Wootton

Grass fire - Greenford
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a grass fire in Perivale Park in Greenford. Approximately three hectares of grass and shrubland were destroyed by fire. Firefighters used backpack blowers, which work just like leaf blowers, to tackle the fire. They allow firefighters to push flames back into already burnt areas.

Wildfire deemed to be deliberate
Firefighters have extinguished a wildfire in Stoke-on-Trent. Three appliances and the 4x4 ranger attended the scene and found a grass fire measuring approximately 100 metres by 50 metres.
Crews from York, Tadcaster and Acomb responded to a report of a grass verge on fire. This was located and found to be a small grass fire caused by a lorry having a tyre blow out. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to dampen down the area.
