Wildfire Watch UK is a new independent, UK-wide wildfire monitoring service created by North Wales resident Nathan Green after he discovered—while away on holiday—that a fast-moving wildfire was heading towards his off-grid home and Greener Glamping eco-retreat only because friends began messaging to ask if he was safe. The service brings together satellite-detected fire hotspots, official fire-service information and local weather data in one place, giving people a clearer picture of potential wildfire activity around them. Launched during a period of unusually high wildfire activity and dry conditions across the UK, Wildfire Watch aims to fill a simple but important gap: helping residents, landowners, rural businesses and visitors find out about nearby fires before they become an immediate threat.
