Crews tackle summer of unprecedented demand

Crews tackle summer of unprecedented demand Our Chief Fire Officer has thanked firefighters for their efforts during a summer of unprecedented demand across Staffordshire. Last month, crews were called to more than 600 outdoor fires. This is almost double the number of outdoor fires crews were called to in August 2025. Six firefighters were admitted to hospital after suffering smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion whilst tackling this fire.
