Field fire – Southwick

24th August, 2026 at 2.48pm We were called to an area off Fairfield Meadows, Southwick at 2.48pm today (24 August) for a field fire affecting approx. 3km x 1km. There are currently crews on scene from Bradford on Avon, Warminster, Frome, Chippenham, Calne and Melksham, with an incident command vehicle from Pewsey. A water carrier from Andover and small 4x4 appliances from Castle Cary and Cheddar are en route. Hose reel jets, main jets and beaters are being used to tackle the fire, which has spread towards Hogginton Lane. Read more
